Important Information for Incoming Freshmen and Current Students Regarding Course Selection and Open House
For Incoming Freshmen:
Course Selection at Middle Schools: High school counselors will visit middle schools during the week of February 3-7 to complete course selection using paper cards.
Staff will collect the cards and provide information about Open House events, as well as guidance on finalizing course selections.
Open House: CHS, LCHS, MHS, OMHS
Date: Tuesday, February 11
Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
Location: The designated high school your child will attend
Open House will provide an opportunity to learn more about course offerings and meet staff.
Finalizing Course Selections:
Parents and students can visit their child’s school staff and finalize course selections on the following dates and times
Wednesday, February 12: 4:00 PM-7:00 PM
Thursday, February 13: 4:00 PM-7:00 PM
Friday, February 14: 8:00 AM-11:30 AM
Ongoing Communication: Parents will receive reminders via Intouch messages, website updates, social media, and through middle schools about the Open House and course selection dates and times.
For Current Students:
Advisory Lessons: Advisory lessons during January and February will help guide students toward course selection, which will take place on February 13 and 14.
Counseling Support for Rezoned Students: School counselors will assist students who may be rezoned to a different high school due to the redistricting process, ensuring they are properly registered and have access to the course selection process for their new school.
