Free Busing for Agricultural Field Trips Throughout Doña Ana County

The Doña Ana County Farm & Livestock Bureau is excited to continue its commitment to agricultural literacy by providing a free bus for students taking an agricultural field trip. For over 20 years, the Doña Ana County Farm Bureau Free School Bus Program has helped students learn about local agriculture and its meaningful connections to everyday life.

Agricultural topics are vast and have many connections in the community. There are many unique opportunities to learn about agriculture and explore career opportunities in the Mesilla Valley. For example, the Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum and the NMSU College of Agriculture, Consumer & Environmental Sciences each have many unique opportunities to learn about agriculture. Through these opportunities, students can see the many possible careers in agriculture, learn about current research, and get excited about attending college. The possibilities are endless regarding the valuable information students glean from these rich learning experiences.

The Doña Ana County Farm Bureau's Free Bus Program application is open. This program offers two free buses to PreK-12 classrooms throughout the county that want to attend an agriculturally oriented field trip. Two buses are allowed per school to try and reach as many schools throughout the district as possible.

The Doña Ana County Farm Bureau Free Bus Program application can be completed online at www.nmaitc.org under the "Happenings" tab. Registration is now open. The program's buses are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
