Help Shape the Future of Our New 6-12 School

Las Cruces Public Schools is excited to begin planning a new 6-12 school, scheduled to open in Fall 2027. As we design this new learning community, we want to hear from students, families, staff, and community members.

This new school will provide a smaller learning environment designed to better support students throughout their educational journey. By serving grades 6-12, the school is intended to eliminate the transition from middle to high school while creating stronger relations, greater community, and more opportunities for students to thrive.

Your feedback will help shape the school’s mission, vision, identity, and education experience. We want to understand what matters most to our community and what you believe should be the primary purpose of this new school.

Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. We are especially interested in your thoughts on questions such as:

• What should be the primary purpose of a 6–12 school?

• What educational opportunities should it provide?

• What values and experiences should define the school?

Areas of interest may include:

• Strong academic preparation for college

• Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways

• Early college and career exploration

• Personalized and flexible learning opportunities

• Social-emotional development and student belonging

• A safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment

• Other ideas that are important to you

The survey is now open and will remain available through July 30. We encourage you to participate and share your perspective. Your input will directly inform the planning process and help create a school that prepares students for success in graduation, college, career, and life.

In addition to this survey, Las Cruces Public Schools will host community meetings and focus groups this fall to gather additional in-person feedback.
